‘A picture talks thousand words’. Based on our experience in producing the weekly business page cartoon of Sunday Observer, ‘Everyone Knows HR’ Kent Ridge can produce HR procedure manuals and instructional material using cartoons. It’s a kind of byte-sized learning too.

Kent Ridge is collaborating with Human Capital Singapore(HCS) to promote remote work in Singapore for Sri Lankans.

Background:

The three of them were batch mates at the National University of Singapore’s Masters in Asia Pacific HRM programme in 2000. David Ang was the Executive Director of Singapore Human Resource Institute (SHRI) and Geok Choo was the President of SHRI and HR Director of Singapore Airlines Engineering at that time. Janaka Kumarsinghe (then HRD Manger Suntel on study leave)after returning to Sri Lanka was appointed the President of IPM Sri Lanka, and subsequently the President of Asia Pacific Federation of HRM  (APFHRM) thanks to SHRI’s recommendation. They collaborated to promote HR in the Asia Pacific region. Mr.David Ang (former Secretary General World Federation of Personal Management Association too) prematurely passed away in 2021.  Madam Ho Geok Choo (former President of APFHRM and MP of Singapore Parliament too)and Janaka Kumarasinghe with their respective organisations Human Capital Singapore  (HCS) and Kent Ridge have started a partnership to continue their collaborative efforts.

Team Building for HNB star performers

A team building session was conducted for best regions as a reward for their achievement. The session was held in Blue Waters Hotel Wadduwa in April 2022 with 77 participants. Thereafter, the HNB management has invited Kent Ridge to conduct another program for their management.

Assessment Centre for Commercial Bank Management Trainees

Kent Ridge consultants were assigned to conduct an Assessment Centre for new management trainees before their final interview. Kent Ridge agreed on a competency framework and developed activities to assess those competencies with the help of a team of professional assessors. The Assessment Centre was held in Dec 2019. Thereafter, a report consisting of competencies of each candidate was submitted to the Commercial Bank management. In 2020 too Kent Ridge was assigned to conduct the Assessment Centre for the new batch of management trainees, however due to the pandemic situation it was abandoned

Reintroduction of a Performance Appraisal System to Sri Lanka Insurance( SLIC)

Kent Ridge was selected to reintroduce performance appraisal system to Staff members of Sri Lanka Insurance. The consultants developed appraisal tools in consultation with SLIC staff, conducted awareness and training sessions for all relevant staff and introduced performance appraisal to match their operation and culture.

Outbound capacity building session for University of Moratuwa MSc. in Construction Project Management Students.

The program was held as a supplement to the human resource management module with the participation of 40 students. The one and half day residential program was held in November 2019.
This program has been much appreciated by the student participants and has been repeatedly conducted for several batches of construction project management students from the past.
