Kent Ridge consultants have been engaged after a major strike by a political party-affiliated union in a manufacturing plant producing a known and authentic brand. KR consultants got an employee relations officer appointed and made him talk to the employees and improve the employee relations atmosphere with many more HR interventions. Thereafter, as an alternative to the external Union, an in-house union was formed. Since then the company has been enjoying good employee relations which has given management the time to focus on the growth of the company which has resulted in multi-fold growth in revenue and its brand presence. Also, a case study on the same has been published by late Professor Sudatta Ranasinghe of Open University Sri Lanka(OUSL) in an IPM Journal.

The lack of HR management support has led to many challenges in a century-old public limited company engage in manufacturing, exports and trading. Kent Ridge consultants formulated an HR policy and procedure manual in consultation with the heads of all the subsidiaries and subdivisions of the company located in different locations. Also, the consultants have facilitated the setting up of the Central Human Resource Management department and recruiting the group human resource manager which has supported the growth of the company.
